Central Institute for the Deaf - St. Louis, MO

CID — Central Institute for the Deaf, a listening and spoken language school for children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing, seeks a coordinator for our Anabeth and John Weil Early Childhood Center beginning August 2022. The center provides specialized instruction to children ages 3 – 6 in the areas of speech, language, and listening along with early literacy, pre-academic concepts, and social skills.

The coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Anabeth and John Weil Early Childhood Center and is responsible for ensuring that the center operates in compliance with state regulations and other professional certifications. The coordinator will supervise and mentor department staff to promote high quality programs and the smooth operation of the department.

The coordinator will work closely with the principal, executive director and leadership team to determine CID’s organizational direction and goals.

Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience in deaf education with an emphasis on listening and spoken language. A qualified candidate will be motivating, organized, flexible, and an excellent communicator who is willing to work collaboratively with other staff members. A Master’s degree in Education of the Deaf or related field along with CED certification is required. Knowledge of public school special education and previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Memphis Oral School for the Deaf - Germantown, TN

Memphis Oral School for the Deaf seeks an Executive Director who will provide strategic leadership, planning and management for the entire organization and is a passionate advocate for children who are deaf and hard of hearing and their families.

The Executive Director reports directly to the MOSD Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall success of MOSD including operational excellence of all programs, program impact, and long-term financial sustainability of the organization. The Executive Director will be accountable for carrying out and protecting the vision and collective goals of the Board and serves as the public face of the organization.

With growing enrollment in the MOSD Preschool, we are seeking an enthusiastic and personable candidate to be the lead teacher in our 2-year old class of early listeners. A master's degree in Deaf Education is required. Experience preferred. Candidates must have a team player attitude, be flexible, collaborate among staff members, and contribute to a positive environment for children to develop spoken language. Memphis Oral School for the Deaf is seeking a fulltime Speech-Language Pathologist for our vibrant preschool program, focused on the development of listening and spoken language skills in children birth to 6 years of age. St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf - Indianapolis, IN

Internationally recognized private oral school, St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, in search of a full-time, energetic, passionate teacher of the deaf. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, SJI teaches children who are deaf or hard of hearing to listen and talk. The teacher develops, plans, and implements an appropriate education program for each child in class ensuring adequate progress in the areas of listening, language and speech as well as academics is made.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, or in an appropriate related field.  Master’s degree in Deaf Education preferred. John Tracy Center

Echo Horizon School - Culver City, CA

Echo Horizon School (Echo Center) is seeking a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS) Certified Auditory Verbal Therapist (AVT) or Educator (AVEd) to provide Auditory-Verbal Therapy to Echo Center students.
