The Atlanta Speech School (Atlanta, Georgia)

The Katherine Hamm Center has an opening for a full-time (30 hrs/week) preschool teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The teacher will provide language-rich experiences to children who are deaf/hard of hearing and children of staff members who have not been diagnosed with a hearing loss, using Auditory-Verbal principles to develop listening and spoken language. Teaching takes place in a school setting with small groups (up to 8). The teacher is responsible for evaluating, identifying appropriate goals, providing experiences to meet those goals, and reporting progress to each child’s team. The teacher will collaborate with a team of professionals (parents, OTs, SLPs, Preschool Counselors, Director, Curriculum Specialist, Educational Audiologists, Managing Audiologist, and outside therapists) to create the optimal learning experience for each child.
The Katherine Hamm Center Assistant Teacher is an integral part of the development of each child in the classroom. The Assistant Teacher is a conversational partner and a model for language and learning. The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher throughout daily routines, implements lessons and creates/coordinates materials. This is a 35 hour/week position.

Clarke School for Hearing and Speech (New York, NY)

Clarke provides children who are deaf or hard of hearing with the listening, learning and spoken language skills they need to succeed. Annually, nearly 1,000 children and their families benefit from programs and services at our five locations: Boston, Jacksonville, New York City, Northampton and Philadelphia. We have several opportunities for Teachers of the Deaf in our New York City location.
The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for working with both Early Intervention (birth-3) and preschool children in group and individual therapeutic activities, conducting evaluations, coordinating goals and objectives with other professionals, working with families and working with the Director of Clarke-New York. St Joseph Institute for the Deaf (Indianapolis, IN)

The Early Intervention Therapist provides individual listening and spoken language intervention to young children with hearing loss and their families. Additionally, this position provides support, counseling, and education to parents. These services are provided in the family home, in a limited remote capacity, or other appropriate setting. Families will be supported by the EI Therapist in their development of effective interactions to promote the development of spoken language skills in their young children with hearing loss.

Summit Speech School (New Providence, NJ)

Summit Speech School is nonprofit organization that provides services for students that have hearing loss. We serve students in three programs: Early Intervention, Preschool (Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities) and Itinerant Services. Our students utilize hearing technologies to speak and listen; our approach is exclusively Listening and Spoken Language. Itinerant services occur in the student's home school district. We currently provide services in 69 school districts. We are currently seeking a ToD for our Itinerant program; the school districts requiring support will be reviewed during the interview process. Summit Speech School is nonprofit organization that provides services for students that have hearing loss. The preschool aged students in our program use various hearing technologies (cochlear implants, hearing aids) to speak and listen. We have a vacancy in our preschool program for a full-time preschool teacher. Current class size is projected to be 5 students! You will have a full-time para-professional in your room and will work closely with a Speech and Language Pathologist. The ideal candidate will have a NJ DOE P-3 certification and a Teacher of the Deaf/HH certification. Our state of the art facility is located in New Providence, NJ. All classrooms have an observation booth, we have an audiology booth and a full-time Educational Audiologist. Our program was established in 1967 and we are leaders in the Listening and Spoken Language field.
