The Preschool Speech-Language Pathologist provides auditory, speech, and language therapy services to children ages 3–5 in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). The Speech-Language Pathologist conducts assessments, develops appropriate therapy goals, and implements evidence-based intervention strategies to support communication development in a preschool setting.
The Early Intervention therapist is responsible for planning and executing parent coaching therapy sessions and center- based group classroom lessons, using listening and spoken language strategies to promote auditory, speech, and language skills in infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing. The Early Intervention therapist will be responsible for therapy and center-based activities, parent support and training.
The Preschool Classroom Teacher at Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech is a qualified early childhood education specialist with familiarity of working with students ages three to five in a classroom setting. The classroom teacher is responsible for the development and implementation of classroom lesson plans with a focus on student’s auditory, speech, and language skills, while facilitating their development across all developmental domains.
The Preschool Teacher Assistant position involves supporting classroom teachers and students throughout the school day. Teaching Assistants are responsible for assisting with arrival and dismissal routines, aiding in self-care tasks for students, and facilitating play and language in the classroom, at the direction of the classroom teacher.
