Services are provided as stipulated in a student’s IEP and can include consultation with professionals, direct service to students support to families, program observations and training.

Clarke School for Hearing and Speech (New York, NY)

The Teacher of the Deaf /HH or Early Childhood Special Educator serves a pivotal role within Clarke’s birth-3 program, conducting evaluations, providing individual SI sessions, virtually and in person and leads SI groups, such as parent/infant groups, toddler groups and parent support groups.
Classroom preschool teacher responsible for planning and leading all aspects of the daily learning environment, with a focus on student’s auditory, speech, and language skills, while facilitating their development across all developmental domains and meeting IEP goals.
 
Early Intervention TOD: work with infants/toddlers and families-conduct evaluations, provide individual services virtually and in person and lead parent/infant, toddler, and parent support groups.
 
The Early Intervention Coordinator makes a significant impact on the families of deaf/hard of hearing infants and toddlers in the NYC area and the professionals who work with them through the supervision of the day-to-day operations of Clarke’s Early Intervention program.

 

Clarke School for Speech and Hearing (Philadelphia, PA)

The Preschool Classroom Teacher at Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech is a qualified early childhood education specialist with familiarity of working with students ages three to five in a classroom setting. The classroom teacher is responsible for the development and implementation of classroom lesson plans with a focus on student’s auditory, speech, and language skills, while facilitating their development across all developmental domains.
 
The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for classroom activities and one-to-one auditory, speech and language work, coordinating goals and objectives with classroom teachers and working with the Director of Clarke PA and the Lead SLP. This position includes providing auditory, speech and language services and parent support and education for families of children who are enrolled in other Clarke PA programs.
 
The Early Intervention teacher is responsible for planning and executing parent coaching therapy sessions and center-based group classroom lessons, using listening and spoken language strategies to promote auditory, speech, and language skills in infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing. The Early Intervention Teacher will be responsible for therapy and center-based activities, parent support and training.

Desert Voices (Phoenix, AZ)

Teachers of the deaf in our programs are expected to provide listening and spoken language instruction that defines the child’s educational goals and supports reaching their learning potential. In addition, preschool program professionals must demonstrate a sound theoretical knowledge of early childhood development and LSLS intervention strategies appropriate to students with hearing loss and who may have additional needs. They must also be able to relate well to students, parents and appropriate representatives of community partners and the entire team of Desert Voices.
Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) and Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) are expected to provide listening and spoken language instruction that supports a child’s educational goals and their ability to reach their learning potential. In addition, SLPs/SLPAs must demonstrate a sound theoretical knowledge of early childhood development and LSLS intervention strategies appropriate to students with hearing loss as well as those who may have additional needs. SLPs/SLPS must also be able to coach adult learners who care for children with hearing loss, as well as be able to relate well to students, parents and appropriate representatives of community partners and the entire team of Desert Voices.

Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (Germantown, TN)

Speech & Hearing Center of the Mid-South dba Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD) is a non-profit organization that aims to Empower Deaf Children to Listen, Learn and Talk. MOSD is an early education intervention auditory-verbal clinical educational program focusing on developing listening and spoken language skills (LSL) in children who are deaf and hard of hearing. MOSD has four different programs to serve clients: Sound Beginnings (age 0-2), Sound Transitions (age 1.5-3), Sound Voyagers – Language Development program for hearing children (age 3-4), Sound Plus – Total Communication Program for children on the spectrum (age 3-4), MOSD Pre-School (age 2-5), and Outside Clients (All ages).
