Clarke School for Hearing and Speech (Jacksonville, FL)

Clarke Florida is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist who will work as part of a team including other speech language pathologists, teaching staff, and the Director of Clarke Florida. The Speech Language Pathologist may have a daily caseload of 7 to 10 children in a school-based program and speech clinic.This is a full-time contract position, and the hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Clarke School for Hearing and Speech (New York, NY)

The Speech Language Pathologist works with both Early Intervention (birth-3) and preschool children in group and individual therapeutic activities, conducting evaluations, coordinating goals and objectives with other professionals, working with families and working with the Director of Clarke-New York. Clarke is currently hiring 3 SLP's for its New York campus   This position reports to the director of Clarke’s NY Campus, is a regular full time position with work hours of 8:00am-4:00 pm  Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
The audiologist will join a dynamic team of professionals supporting children birth-5 years who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families. The pediatric audiologist plays a critically important role on the team, insuring that either directly or through collaboration, children have optimal auditory access via well fit amplification and parents and professionals have the information and skills they need to support each child’s development.    The audiologist will work both with established children/families and new ones within the Early Intervention and Preschool Programs.
The Physical Therapist at Clarke School is part of a dynamic team of therapists who support deaf and hard of hearing children and their parents in a center based EI and Preschool program. The PT is responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and conducting pediatric physical therapy sessions to facilitate growth in gross motor development. The PT also administers evaluations and assessments to determine a child’s level of gross motor function relative to age. The PT will develop a treatment plan and monitor progress for each child on his/her caseload. The PT also provides support in the classrooms to insure teachers, assistant teachers and other service providers have the skill and information about strategies and needs to support all children in the development of healthy motor development. 
The Early Intervention preschool classroom teacher is a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, though candidates with Early Childhood Special Education certification will be considered, who works with students ages three to five in a classroom setting and is responsible for planning and leading all aspects of the daily learning environment. The classroom teacher develops and implements classroom lesson plans with a focus on student’s auditory, speech, and language skills, while facilitating their development across all developmental domains and meeting IEP goals. The teacher is an integral part of Clarke’s multidisciplinary preschool program, working collaboratively with Clarke’s administrative staff, speech-language pathologists, educational audiologist, OT, PT, and families. This is a full time, exempt position with general hours of 8:00 am- 4:00 pm, 35 hour per week, for both the academic school year and the 6 week summer program.

Clarke is seeking an itinerant part time educational audiologist. The part time (10 to 14 hours per week) audiologist will provide services to deaf and hard of hearing itinerant students in mainstream school settings in eastern Massachusetts.

Desert Voices (Phoenix, AZ)

Teachers of the deaf are expected to provide listening and spoken language instruction that begins to define the child’s educational goals and supports reaching their learning potential. Teaching professionals must demonstrate a sound theoretical knowledge of early childhood development and LSLS intervention strategies appropriate to students with hearing loss and who may have additional needs. They must also be able to relate well to infants, toddlers, and children, parents and appropriate representatives of community partners and the Desert Voices team.
Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) and Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) are expected to provide listening and spoken language instruction that supports a child’s educational goals and their ability to reach their learning potential. SLPs/SLPAs must demonstrate a sound theoretical knowledge of early childhood development and LSLS intervention strategies appropriate to students with hearing loss as well as those who may have additional needs. SLPs/SLPS must also be able to coach adult learners who care for children with hearing loss, as well as be able to relate well to students, parents and appropriate representatives of community partners and the Desert Voices team.
