Erica Jones
Erica W. Jones, M. Ed., LSLS Cert. AVEd, is the Program Director of the Katherine Hamm Center at the Atlanta Speech School. The Katherine Hamm Center serves “each child” who is deaf or hard of hearing that is seen within the walls of the School through preschool programming and Auditory-Verbal Therapy (in person and virtual), and is involved in grant work that serves “every child” who is deaf or hard of hearing throughout the state of Georgia. Erica is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she received both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She started her career at Atlanta Speech School as a Teacher of the Deaf. She completed 14 years in this role and then become a Birth to Three Coach/Mentor where she worked closely with 15 Early Intervention Specialists through one of Georgia’s early intervention programs, GA PINES (Georgia Parent and Infant Network of Educational Services). Through this work she offered workshops to all of Georgia’s Babies Can’t Wait and GA PINES Early Interventionists. Erica then accepted role of Curriculum Specialist of the Katherine Hamm Center’s Preschool. ls. During her time at the Atlanta Speech School Erica served as Staff Representative on the Board of Directors, joined forces with Georgia State University to provide real-life videos to be used to train teachers, coached interns from multiple Masters’ programs, mentored through PPCI (Professional Preparation in Cochlear Implants), presented on subjects such as coaching and making LSL skills “habits”, and was a guest author for a book written by Nancy Young and Jan Hasbrouck. Erica loves to interact with others, learn from them and share her passion.
Erica, her husband, their four teenage sons, and two dogs live in Atlanta, Georgia. Together the family enjoys traveling, hiking, fishing, and pickleball. When Erica steals time away, she enjoys reading, walking, tennis, and working in the yard.
